In partnership with Audio Gold, London, Barnaby researched and developed a 1970’s style sideboard for vinyl storage and record playing equipment. Taking inspiration from the iconic Celestion 66 speakers, Barnaby designed the sideboard using inspired shapes and colours while working with modern materials.
After researching into sustainable alternatives to the 70’s favourite rose wood, he was able to use surplus wenge from a local furniture maker and FSC sourced smoked eucalyptus veneer. Velchromat, a high-density component made with specialist natural resin and dyes is used for the core.
The beautiful sideboard is made to order and can be built in a variety of other sustainably sourced FSC veneers to the customer's specification.

The Abyss has been beautifully crafted with the music enthusiast in mind. The top can host an amp, two turntables and a mixer. The space below provides ample storage for favourite records including two drawers designed to take seven-inch vinyl, and a third drawer for storage. The elegant sliding doors allow the vinyl to be easily accessible during a mix or listening session.
The large recessed back creates the option for extension leads and cables to be mounted out of sight. Carefully crafted, stained oak legs frame the sideboard, grounding the piece effortlessly.

Celestion 66 speaker casings can be made to order in matching materials to create a beautiful three-piece set that will become the talking point of any home. Although built in the 70’s the Celestion 66 speaker is still highly regarded as one of the best floor speakers made. Please note these are made to order to insure the veneer comes from the same batch as the Abyss sideboard to create the perfect match.
