OSF Table.

client — b2 architects

type — Dining Table

year — 2022

Designed and built for b2 architects. The practice required a dining table for a client that could seat up to 14 people. Working from the client brief, Barnaby designed an extending table made from American walnut and rippled sycamore. The space saving table extends out along the width to create a square which keeps conversation open between all diners, an advantage over the classic length extension.

The OSF Table is designed in a mid-century modern style. A solid black American walnut underframe creates strength to hold the large 2400 x 2400 mm rippled sycamore top. The edge is curved to client specification and lipped with American walnut. The extension slides are built by the German company Pottker.

The runner system is designed to extend both leaves when opened from one side. The spare leaf is stored within the table and guided into place with handmade American walnut pins.
